Western Monarch and Milkweed Habitat Suitability Assessment Project – Phase I
In 2015, the data from this database were used to develop a habitat suitability model for monarchs through a partnership between the Pacific Region of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and the Xerces Society. More details, including results from the model, are available here.
Western Monarch and Milkweed Habitat Suitability Assessment Project – Phase II
Through a new partnership between the Xerces Society, the University of Nevada-Reno, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the 2015 model is being refined using data collected during the 2016 field season. Model results will be available in spring 2017.
